Forecast Update: Wintry Mix to Affect the State Tomorrow

This is an update to my previous post: Winter Storm Watch Issued: Snow, Sleet, Freezing Rain on the Way

A winter storm will impact our state, beginning late tonight or early tomorrow morning. Snow, sleet, freezing rain, and plain rain can be expected. Winter Storm Warnings, and Winter Weather Advisories have been issued by the National Weather Service.

Here is my updated forecast timeline for each region of the state:

These timelines should give a general idea of my thinking in terms of precip type and amounts. Snow will overspread the state between 4 and 7am and last through most of the morning. Warmer air will surge in aloft, starting the changeover from south to north. Southern zones will changeover to plain rain during the afternoon hours, while further north there will be a greater impact from frozen precipitation with sleet, and freezing rain becoming the predominant precip type into the afternoon and evening. The precipitation should end as rain tomorrow night or early Thursday morning.

I will post another update this evening if needed.
