High pressure will continue to build in from the northwest today leading to mostly sunny skies and cool temperatures. Highs today will be in the low 80s.

Another clear and cool night will be on tap tonight with lows in the upper 50s to around 60 in central Maryland, falling to the 40s in far western Maryland.

Expect another nice day tomorrow, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid 80s.

The high will move off of the coast this weekend and as a result, more humid air will begin to push back into the region. This will lead to an increase in clouds on Saturday with just a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms during the afternoon, mainly over the mountains. Highs will remain in the low to mid 80s.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH remains in effect for most counties west of the bay.


A cold front with copious amounts of tropical moisture is pressing through the state this morning. Ahead of and along the front, heavy rain is occurring. The front will continue to push eastward over the next few hours, ending the rainfall from west to east.

Generally, 1-4″ of rain has fallen west of the bay, leading to areas of flooding. Highs this afternoon will be in the upper 60s.

A secondary front will pass through late this evening, bringing another chance of showers as it does.

Cloudy and cooler today; Cold front moves towards the area tomorrow

A backdoor cold front has pressed through central Maryland, spreading Atlantic moisture and clouds into the state. Areas of fog and drizzle will persist for the next few hours before burning off but clouds will remain through the day. It will also be cooler than the past few days, with highs in the mid 70s.

A cold front will approach tomorrow, first pushing a warm front through during the morning. This will lead to a partly sunny afternoon with breezy southeast winds. Highs will be around 80.

Scattered showers will likely begin to move into the area later tomorrow afternoon or evening as the front moves closer.

Rain chances will increase dramatically tomorrow night and Friday. Expect more widespread rain and embedded thunderstorms. The rain could be heavy at times. Highs on Friday will be in the low 70s.

With high pressure moving off the coast today, expect one more nice day albeit with increasing clouds this afternoon. Highs will be in the mid 80s.

A disturbance will bring a slight chance of showers tonight and a chance of thunderstorms tomorrow. Highs tomorrow will be in the upper 80s.

Thunderstorm chances will increase on Wednesday and Wednesday night as a cold front moves through. Highs will be in the upper 80s.

Cold Front Pushing Through; Nice Weekend on Tap

A cold front is currently pushing through the state from the north. Meanwhile, an area of showers is moving from west to east along the front. The showers will continue to affect the mountains before moving eastward into central Maryland later this morning or early afternoon. Southern portions of the state will see the best chance of showers as the front pushes this activity southward as it moves east. Highs today will be in the mid 80s.

High pressure takes control this weekend. Expect mostly sunny skies both Saturday and Sunday with highs in the low 80s both days.

Today will be warm and humid with afternoon sunshine. The sunshine will lead to some instability which will support scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the upper 80s.

A cold front will approach tonight and cross the area tomorrow. The front will bring another chance of afternoon thunderstorms as it passes through. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s.

Behind the front, a nice stretch of weather is expected for the weekend and into next week. Highs on Saturday and Sunday will be in the low 80s under mostly sunny skies.

High pressure will give us one more nice day today under sunny skies with low humidity. Highs will be in the low 80s.

A warm front will push through the area tonight, allowing the humidity to return. This will result in scattered showers and possibly a thunderstorm tomorrow. Highs will be in the upper 70s to low 80s.

Showers and thunderstorms will be possible again on Wednesday and Thursday with highs on Wednesday in the upper 70s to low 80s and low to mid 80s on Thursday.

Following a frontal passage, high pressure is working into the region and will bring lower humidity levels and mostly sunny skies today. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s.

Another cold front will approach from the west tomorrow. This front will bring showers and thunderstorms to the state as it moves in tomorrow evening and tomorrow night. Highs will be in the mid 80s.

The front moves through tomorrow night, allowing high pressure to build back in on Sunday. Expect early morning clouds to give way to a mostly sunny afternoon with highs in the low to mid 80s.
