Scattered showers and storms today

Current Surface Map
Despite the clouds and scattered showers, highs today will still climb to near 70 degrees. A weak disturbance will move through this afternoon, bringing a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms through this evening.

The area of high pressure that has been anchored off the Carolina coast will continue to dominate our weather. Expect the marine layer to move back into the area tonight, bringing more foggy conditions for tomorrow morning.

After the fog burns off tomorrow, highs will again push into the 70s under mostly sunny skies.

The storm system that will affect the area this weekend will push into the midwest on Thursday, increasing the southerly flow and pushing highs Thursday and Friday to near 80 degrees. The southerly flow will also bring in more moisture, providing a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms each day.

The low pressure will move into and through the area over the weekend, bringing cooler air and higher rain chances for Saturday and Sunday. Expect highs in the mid 60s both days.
