Areas of light rain are moving through the state this morning while a warm front remains to our south. The front will lift northward this afternoon, bringing an end to the rainfall. Highs today will be in the low to mid 60s.

Tomorrow will see generally cloudy skies. Southerly flow ahead of an approaching cold front will increase winds through the day, with gusts near 25 mph by tomorrow night. Highs will be around 70 degrees.

The front will spread rainfall into the area late tomorrow night or early Friday morning. Winds will continue to gust to near 25 mph through the day on Friday. Additionally, an isolated thunderstorm is possible Friday with localized strong gusty winds. Highs on Friday will be in the low 70s.

High pressure will give us one more nice day today under sunny skies with low humidity. Highs will be in the low 80s.

A warm front will push through the area tonight, allowing the humidity to return. This will result in scattered showers and possibly a thunderstorm tomorrow. Highs will be in the upper 70s to low 80s.

Showers and thunderstorms will be possible again on Wednesday and Thursday with highs on Wednesday in the upper 70s to low 80s and low to mid 80s on Thursday.

As a warm front moves northward today and a cold front approaches from the west, several rounds of heavy rainfall will move through today. Additionally, thunderstorms are likely this afternoon, producing locally heavy rainfall and strong gusty winds.

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for all of central Maryland, while a general Flood Watch is in effect for the Eastern Shore. Highs today will be in the mid 70s.

Rainfall will begin to taper off later tonight as the cold front moves through.

The front will clear the area tomorrow morning, but will stall out to our south. This will allow for a slight chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm. Highs will be in the low 80s.

After a frosty start, temperatures today will warm into the 60s under partly sunny skies.

A warm front will push through the area tonight and will stall out. This front will be the focus for an unsettled stretch of weather, featuring showers and thunderstorms.

Tomorrow will see a a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the mid 70s under partly sunny skies.

There is a slightly better chance of showers and storms on Thursday, with scattered showers and storms possible again Friday. Highs both days will be around 80 degrees.

Unsettled Weather For The Week Ahead

An area of low pressure will develop along a stationary front over northern North Carolina today and move northeastward tonight. This feature will bring isolated showers and thunderstorms to the area this afternoon and tonight. Highs today will be in the upper 80s to near 90.

The low moves away from the area tomorrow, as another cold front approaches from the west. In between the two systems, the air will remain warm and humid. Expect a better chance of showers and thunderstorms tomorrow and tomorrow night. Highs tomorrow will be in the mid to upper 80s.

Today will feature plenty of cloud cover as well as scattered showers, mainly in the mountains. Highs will push into the mid 80s despite the clouds.

A warm front will approach the area tonight, pushing through during the day tomorrow. This front will bring in warmer and more humid air which will support more scattered showers tonight, with thunderstorms possible tomorrow. Highs tomorrow will be in the mid to upper 80s.

Sunday begins another stretch of warm and humid weather with afternoon thunderstorms possible. Highs will push into the low 90s.

Another Nice Day…Heat and Humidity to Return

High pressure will continue to control our weather today before the stationary front to our south begins moving north as a warm front tomorrow.

Today will be mostly sunny with highs in the 70s in the mountains to around 90 in the metro areas.

The warm front will begin moving northward tonight and will cross the area late tomorrow bringing more clouds, a chance of thunderstorms and increased humidity. Highs tomorrow will be in the upper 80s to near 90 under mostly cloudy skies. The best chance for thunderstorms will be tomorrow evening.

Severe weather day

Today is the first day of Meteorological Summer and to mark the occasion, it looks like we will be dealing with a rather widespread severe weather event.

A warm front is currently working it’s way through the state, allowing moisture and warmer temperatures to stream northward. This feature, combined with a cold front approaching from the west will provide the forcing necessary for shower and thunderstorm development.

At this time, it appears enough instability and lift will be present for some of these storms to become severe and produce damaging winds, large hail, torrential rain and possibly tornadoes.

Today will be mostly sunny and pleasant, with highs in the low 80s and lower humidity.

Unfortunately, the nice weather will be short lived as a strong area of low pressure will approach the state tomorrow.

The system will bring a warm front through the area during the day, followed by a cold front overnight. These features will allow showers and thunderstorms to develop during the afternoon and move through. Some of the storms could become severe with damaging winds, hail and heavy rainfall as the primary threat.

Today will be mostly cloudy under easterly flow. There is also a slight chance of a shower this afternoon as leftover showers and storms that are currently over the midwest continue to track east. Highs will be in the upper 60s to near 70.

A low pressure system to our west will push a warm front through tomorrow, allowing warm, muggy air to flow into the region. Additionally, a cold front will approach from the west. This will set the stage for scattered showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon. Highs will be in the mid 70s under mostly cloudy skies.
