Hot and Humid with a Chance of Storms

Current Surface Map
Temperatures will rise into the low 90s today and the humidity will continue to build. This will fuel isolated thunderstorms this afternoon. Any storm activity will diminish this evening as we lose the day time heating.

Tomorrow will be a few degrees warmer than today, with highs in the mid to upper 90s. There is a better chance of storms tomorrow afternoon and evening, some of them may become severe.

The heat continues to build on Thursday and Friday, with highs approaching 100 degrees. The heat will continue into the weekend with highs on Saturday again near 100.

Slight Break in the Heat

Today will be slightly “cooler” with highs in the low 90s and dew points in the low 60s. This will make the temperatures much more tolerable than the past few days. The thunderstorm chances that we have seen will continue today, with scattered storms developing this afternoon and evening.

Unfortunately, the break in the heat is short lived. Expect the humidity to begin to build again tomorrow, with highs again in the low 90s.

Rain chances increase a bit as well, as a weak area of low pressure moves in from the west. The low will push through on Wednesday, bringing a better chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening with highs in the mid 90s.
