Dry into the Weekend; Sandy Forms in the Caribbean

Current Surface Map
High pressure off the Carolina coast remains in control of our weather. It will provide us with warm and dry conditions today and tomorrow before being pushed northward to off the New England coast. This will develop onshore flow over our area, bringing more clouds and slightly cooler air.

Highs today and tomorrow will be in the upper 70s to around 80 degrees under partly sunny skies.

Thursday through Saturday will feature more clouds. The clouds will hold temperatures down a bit, keeping highs in the low to mid 70s.

Current NHC Forecast Track
The bigger story is what happens as Sandy moves northward and a cold front approaches from the west late Saturday and Sunday.

While one model wants to pull Sandy westward towards our area, current thinking is that the front will push through on Sunday bringing a chance of showers while Sandy moves out to sea.

As this is 5+ days away, uncertainty is high and it will have to be monitored.

Behind the front, much colder air will filter into the region for the first half of next week.
