Unsettled Weather For The Week Ahead

Current Surface Map
An area of low pressure will develop along a stationary front over northern North Carolina today and move northeastward tonight. This feature will bring isolated showers and thunderstorms to the area this afternoon and tonight. Highs today will be in the upper 80s to near 90.

The low moves away from the area tomorrow, as another cold front approaches from the west. In between the two systems, the air will remain warm and humid. Expect a better chance of showers and thunderstorms tomorrow and tomorrow night. Highs tomorrow will be in the mid to upper 80s.

The cold front moves through on Wednesday, bringing another chance of thunderstorms as it does so. Highs will be in the mid 80s. The front looks as though it will stall out just to the south of the area Thursday and Friday. It should be far enough south to keep the area dry, with highs around 90 both days.

The stationary front will return northward as a warm front during the weekend. As it does so, expect showers and thunderstorms to again be possible as temperatures bump up to the low to mid 90s.
