Mostly Sunny Today; Mix to Rain Friday

Current Surface Map
Current Surface Map
Today will be mostly sunny and breezy with a high in the low 40s. Northwest winds will gust to near 25mph this afternoon.

Tomorrow will feature increasing clouds, with a high in the upper 30s to around 40.

An area of low pressure developing over eastern Texas will move along the Gulf Coast and then up the coast Friday. With a lack of cold air, expect light rain or wintry mix to develop late Thursday night, changing to rain.

The rain will continue Friday into Friday night. Highs Friday will be in the mid 40s.

As the storm moves up the coast, major snowfall is expected to our north into New England.

Wintry Day on Tap

Current Surface Map
The Nor’Easter that was forecast to move up the coast will be close enough to the state to bring wintry precipitation, mainly across central and eastern Maryland.

The storm is currently situated off the Delmarva coast this morning. It will continue to strengthen as it moves north and will also continue to push light wintry precipitation into the state. Winds will increase today and into tomorrow, gusting to around 30mph.

Light precipitation has pushed into central Maryland where a light rain/snow/graupel mix is currently falling. Further south and east, light rain is falling.

The mix across central Maryland will eventually change to all snow later this afternoon and into this evening as colder air flows in from the north and evaporative cooling continues. The heaviest precip will fall late this afternoon and evening and the snow will taper off overnight.

Mostly Sunny Today; Nor’Easter Threat Diminishes

Current Surface Map
Today will be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s. Clouds will increase tonight as low pressure over the southeast turns the corner and begins to move up the coast.

Models are converging on a solution that brings the low up the coast, but farther out to sea, meaning we will be on the fringe of it.

Rain chances and winds increase tomorrow, mainly for central and eastern Maryland, and taper off to the west. Highs will be in the mid 40s.

Expect light rain to continue tomorrow night, tapering off early Thursday. Highs will approach 50 degrees under decreasing clouds.

Behind the low, high pressure builds in for the end of the week and the weekend. Highs Friday will be around 50 under sunny skies.

Decreasing Clouds Today; Coastal Storm Midweek

Current Surface Map
High pressure will build into the area today and bring a return to sunshine for this afternoon and tomorrow. Highs both days will be around 50 degrees.

Computer models are in agreement that an area of low pressure currently over Missouri will dive to the Gulf Coast where it will intensify and turn the corner to move up the eastern seaboard.

While they agree on this much, there is slight disagreement in the eventual track and as is always the case with these storms, the exact track will determine our weather and a small change in the track can have drastic effects on the forecast.

Partly Sunny and Breezy

Current Surface Map
Today will be partly sunny and breezy with highs in the low to mid 50s.

High pressure moves in tomorrow, bringing mostly sunny skies but maintaining the breezy conditions. Highs will be in the low 50s with northwest winds gusting to near 20mph.

Clouds increase Sunday as an area of low pressure moves by to our south and out to sea. Highs Sunday will be around 50 degrees.

The first half of the work week looks cloudy but dry as another system develops to our south. Highs Monday and Tuesday will continue below normal, in the low 50s.

Rain today, coastal storm more likely this weekend

Current Weather Map
Rain will continue to overspread the area from SW to NE this morning and will continue off and on through the day. Highs will be in the low 50s. Expect clearing skies late tonight, as high pressure builds in tomorrow bringing mostly sunny skies into the first half of the weekend. Highs tomorrow and Saturday will be in the low to mid 50s.

Rain likely tomorrow, then all eyes on the weekend

Current Weather Map
Today will feature clearing skies and temperatures in the low to mid 50s. Clouds will increase tonight ahead of a low pressure system that will bring periods of rain to the area tomorrow. Expect around a quarter of an inch of rain total before it ends tomorrow evening.

High pressure builds in for Friday into Saturday bringing mostly sunny skies and highs around 50. The high will gradually move off the coast ahead of the next possible storm system that could affect the area on Sunday.
