With the first round of our two part storm well underway, and producing much more snow than expected, I have adjusted my total snowfall forecast:

This is *event total* snowfall, so it accounts for today’s snowfall as well. Barring any drastic changes to my thinking as today evolves, this will be my final forecast for this storm.

Expect snow, sleet, freezing rain, and rain to continue this afternoon, changing to mostly sleet and snow. There may be a lull in the action for a few hours this evening before round 2 begins tonight. This system will bring mostly snow to the entire state. The snow will persist into tomorrow afternoon before tapering off.

Additional snowfall from the second system will bring the combined totals to what is shown in my forecast above.

I will provide storm updates on Facebook and Twitter throughout today and tomorrow.
