Spring Unofficially Arrives this Week!

Summary: High pressure off of the Carolina coastline will control the weather for most of this week. Unsettled weather returns by the end of the week and into the weekend.

The calendar may say it is early March and that spring doesn’t arrive for 2 more weeks but weather-wise, spring will arrive this week and all indications are that it is here to stay.

Expect plenty of sunshine this week as high pressure parks off of the Carolina coastline and pumps warm air up the eastern seaboard. Temperatures will warm into the 60s today, be around 70 tomorrow and push into the 70s Wednesday and Thursday before cooling a bit by the weekend:

Shower chances will increase by late in the week as low pressure meanders into the region and a backdoor cold front slides in from the northeast. Expect a showery period Friday through Sunday with high temperatures in the 60s.
