Breezy and Cooler Today with a Chance of Sprinkles this Afternoon

An area of low pressure remains over the northeast US and will continue to combine with building high pressure to funnel cooler air into our region on gusty northwest winds. An area of low pressure will likely bring showers late Saturday into Sunday.

TODAY: Today will be mostly sunny, breezy and cooler with afternoon highs in the upper 50s to near 60°. Northwest winds will gust to near 25mph. A weak disturbance will pass through this afternoon, increasing clouds with a slight chance of sprinkles.

Lows will fall into the low to mid 30s tonight but continued breezy conditions should limit frost formation. A Freeze Watch has been issued for the northern counties, where temps could fall below freezing, damaging or killing sensitive plants.

FRIDAY: Expect another mostly sunny, breezy and cool day. Highs will top out in the upper 50s to low 60s. Overnight lows tomorrow night will fall into the low to mid 30s with light winds. Temps may once again dip below freezing, especially across northern Maryland. Elsewhere, the light winds will allow scattered frost to form, especially away from the bay.

SATURDAY: The day starts out clear and cold but clouds increase ahead of an area of low pressure that will spread showers into the area during the afternoon. The rain will continue Saturday night as the low passes by to our south. Highs will be in the upper 50s.

SUNDAY: Rain chances will linger into Sunday morning before tapering off. Clouds will decrease through the day with highs in the upper 50s to near 60°.

OUTLOOK: Temperatures remain cool into next week with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s as low pressure remains over the northeast. This will also keep us generally cloudy with shower chances through mid week. A stronger area of low pressure may affect the area during the latter half of the week.
