Showers and Storms Possible this Afternoon; Turning Colder to End the Week

A cold front will cross this evening ushering in colder air tomorrow and into the weekend. An area of low pressure will slide by to our south Saturday, bringing a chance of showers.

TODAY: A cold front is moving in from the northwest and will cross the state this evening. Showers and thunderstorms will develop ahead of the front and pass through during the afternoon and evening hours.

Some of the showers and storms could produce locally gusty winds and perhaps some small hail. Highs will be in the upper 60s. Winds could gust to over 30mph this afternoon.

THURSDAY: Expect a mix of clouds and sun and high temperatures much cooler than today. Highs will top out in the mid to upper 50s. Winds will continue to be breezy, gusting to near 25mph during the day. Temperatures will fall into the low to mid 30s tomorrow night.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny and breezy, with highs in the mid 50s. Northwest winds will continue to gust to near 25mph. Temperatures will once again fall into the low to mid 30s Friday night.

SATURDAY: An area of low pressure will approach and then pass by to our south Saturday night. At this time, it appears the system will spread showers into our area by Saturday evening, persisting through the night. Highs on Saturday will be in the mid to upper 50s.

SUNDAY: High pressure builds in behind the system allowing skies to clear and sunshine to return. Highs will be in the low 60s under mostly sunny skies.
