Snow Forecast: Snow to Rain Tomorrow Night into Friday

An area of low pressure will spread precipitation into our area tomorrow night. It will be cold enough for the precipitation to start as snow and continue into Friday morning before changing to rain by Friday afternoon.

Snowfall will generally be confined to elevated and grassy surfaces and any snow that accumulates will melt Friday afternoon.

Today’s models have come in a bit colder, meaning more snow is likely but with the warm ground and strong sun angle, it will be very hard to get the snow to stick.

That said, a couple of inches is possible across central and northern Maryland before we warm up Friday afternoon and the snow changes to rain.

Again, this will be a fairly minor event with accumulation limited to grassy and elevated surfaces that will mostly melt during the afternoon. Highs on Friday will approach 40° with light rain continuing into Friday evening.
