An area of low pressure developing over the Carolinas will move northeastward today. The low will be close enough to spread isolated showers into the region, especially south and east of I-95. Isolated showers are possible this evening and tonight, mainly across southern Maryland and the lower eastern shore. Highs today will be in the upper 70s under generally cloudy skies.

The low will continue to move northeastward tomorrow, keeping the area under easterly flow and allowing isolated showers to spread into portions of the state. The showers may make it a bit further north and westward as the low moves closer. As a result, isolated showers are possible across most of the state but especially east of the mountains. Highs will be in the upper 70s under cloudy skies.

The low will continue its trek up the coast Wednesday and away from the area. Expect decreasing clouds through the day with highs in the upper 70s to around 80.

A strong cold front will approach on Thursday. Southerly flow ahead of the front will increase temperatures and moisture. As a result, isolated showers and thunderstorms may develop Thursday afternoon under otherwise mostly sunny skies. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s.

The front will pass through Thursday night into Friday with more showers and thunderstorms. The front should clear by Friday morning, allowing cooler and drier air to filter in for the weekend.
