High pressure is building into the northeast today and as a result, mostly sunny skies are expected today. It will be cooler and drier, with highs in the low 80s to mid 80s.

Expect more of the same tomorrow with highs once again reach the mid 80s under mostly sunny skies. Clouds will increase during the evening and into the overnight as an area of low pressure moves towards the area.

The low pressure will move west to east, just south of the state Saturday into Sunday. At this time, it appears light showers may affect most of the state Saturday. The low will continue to move eastward Saturday night into Sunday.

Light showers will be possible across central and northern Maryland while a steadier, heavier rain falls over southern Maryland and the lower Eastern Shore. Rainfall totals over an inch are possible across those areas. Highs will be in the low 80s both days.

We remain unsettled as we move into the new work week. Expect isolated to scattered thunderstorms Monday and Tuesday afternoons followed by a cold frontal passage midweek. Highs will be in the low 80s through the period.
