High pressure remains over the region and will lead to mostly sunny skies today. There is a slight chance of afternoon thunderstorms over the mountains. Some of these may move eastward into central Maryland during the evening. Coverage will be light and isolated if any storms do form. Highs today will be in the upper 80s.

A cold front will approach and move through the state tomorrow. There is a slightly better chance of showers and thunderstorms tomorrow evening as the front crosses. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s.

High pressure will return to close out the week. Thursday will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 80s.

Friday will be a few degrees cooler, with highs in the low 80s under sunny skies.

The high will begin to push off of the coast Saturday, allowing more humid air to move back into the region. This will support isolated thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening hours Saturday and Sunday, although most areas will remain dry. Highs will be in the low to mid 80s both days.
