One more hot day

…HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EDT THIS EVENING…

Current Surface Map
Today will be the last oppressively hot day for a while, as temperatures will once again approach 100 degrees. Combined with the humidity, heat index values will be near 105 this afternoon. A Heat Advisory is in effect until 10pm tonight.

There is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon in the higher terrain and that activity will weaken and move east, bringing a slight chance of rain into central Maryland overnight.

Tomorrow will still be warm, with temperatures in the mid 90s and thunderstorms likely in the afternoon. Some of the storms could be severe, with gusty winds and large hail.

A cold front will cross the region late Friday night into Saturday morning, bringing relief from the heat and humidity.

This weekend will feel pleasant, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper 80s with lower humidity.

Another cold front will move through on Monday, bringing a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.
