Relief in sight

Warm and muggy air will continue to flow up the eastern seaboard today and tomorrow, setting the stage for more showers and storms. A cold front will bring relief from the humidity and will drop temperatures significantly as we head into the weekend.

Low pressure continues to spin to our west, blocked by a Bermuda High to the east. A cold front is expected to develop and help drive the low pressure eastward, clearing the area on Thursday and ushering in drier conditions.

Showers and storms are expected to develop this afternoon and stick around through Thursday morning. Due to abundant moisture, these showers and storms could produce locally heavy rainfall. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s through Thursday.

Highs this weekend look to top out in the mid 60s, with overnight lows in the mid 40s under mostly clear skies.
