Who would have thought a 3-6″ snowfall in Maryland would be “the small one” this week? The models continue to advertise a major – if not historic – snowstorm for the region this weekend. Computer model guidance has converged on a solution that would bring an area of low pressure up from the Gulf and into Kentucky as a new, stronger low forms along the Carolinas. This low then moves up the coast, off the Delmarva and out to sea.
The exact track is unknown at this time, but if the current solutions verify, we will again be measuring snow by the feet and we could see our second Top 10 snowstorm of the season.

This map shows 1.25″- 2.00″ of liquid precipitation has fallen, ending on Sunday afternoon. Taking a standard 10 to 1 ratio of snow to rain and that would be 12.5″ – 20″ of snow!
